Red Chinese Painted Storage Cabinet

This beautifully painted cabinet is handmade in an artisan workshop in Southeast China.  It is made from elm and is finished in this vibrant red. The main colour is set off with traces of the dark undercoat. There are four side drawers and a central compartment with two doors that can be closed with a copper pin. We think the design of this cabinet would add a rich and colourful tone to a modern home.
